The shooting death of 18-year-old Gilbert Collar resulting from an encounter between the student, who was allegedly on drugs, and a campus police officer, made the front page of the Vanguard, the student newspaper for the University of South Alabama.
Student journalists with the publication referred to the story as the biggest of their college career.
